During manufacturing, material folds around rods and wraps back, and this causes the fold lines. Both items are dishwasher safe.

We love our wine and the Venturi is fantastic.
The Venturi is just what we hoped it would be. All the young wines at restaurants today make it difficult. We've used it on a newer red, 2007 Brunello, and an older, 1998 Shiraz, just to see the difference. The Shiraz was already ready to drink but the Venturi opened it quickly. The 2007 was amazing - it was far too young and yet the Venturi did the trick. It still isn't a 1998 vintage but the difference was truly amazing. You can take the Venturi anywhere in its cloth case. Get the tower as well but use a decanter underneath instead of a wine glass. With a glass (even a taller one) there is some spill from the height. The tower does have a "catch" for the spill but the decanter takes away most of that.
Great Gift
My mother and I drink red wine and I gave this to her as a gift. She absolutely loved it. It was easy to use and the wine flowed wonderfully through it. She thought it looked very nice. So nice in fact that she wants to keep it setup in her kitchen.

Wine that has been poured through the Vinturi tastes as if it has been breathing in a decanter all night (the flavor is much smoother). Plus, the acrylic tower that holds the Vinturi is very classy and elegant looking.
Simple yet Amazing
My wife and enjoy a class of wine with our dinner and sometimes lunch. This product enhances every single bottle of wine we have tried. We don't drink expensive bottles, normally anywhere from $5-$35 a bottle and we have our regulars. I enjoyed this product so much that I bought one for my parents and it was a big hit. If you are a wine drinker this product is as essential as a cork opener.
